LEO SINGLETON - ARTISAN ENGINEER
Silversmith • Green woodworker • Craftsman
Leo Singleton is a craftsman, silversmith, designer and engineer who has spent most of his adult life problem-solving, making and experimenting always with the aim of achieving a balance between quality of function and aesthetics.
When these primary aspects are in harmony even the simplest of objects, such as a wooden bowl, becomes vibrant and is a pleasure to use.
Leo has developed a keen instinct for form and proportion, and a feel for materials which provides a foundation for his work and informs his designs.
He works mainly in wood, focussing on greenwood furniture but also with a keen interest in traditional bowmaking and jewellery.
Leo lives on Spindlebrook Farm in Devon with his partner Helen.
Having lived in a yurt for years, pursuing a low impact lifestyle, he has developed a keen understanding and appreciation of true sustainability which he applies to his life and work.
I generally make pieces to order but do have some stock from time to time -particularly smaller items such as stools & jewellery. Please get in touch and I can provide further details.
